Service Description: Women in Need (WIN) is an organization working out of New York City to provide services for adults and children who are homeless and disadvantaged. WIN provides various services to the community including, but not limited to shelter, training and counseling, treatment and childcare. Service at WIN will include an orientation that will familiarize participants with real social issues that impact the lives of women and children. Work will include beautification projects, recreation activities with children and events with clients.  Volunteers will experience different programs of Women In Need by visiting and working at our Main Office, various family shelters, and substance abuse clinics.  The week of service takes place in three different boroughs of NYC: Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx.

Service Description: Participants in Washington D.C. will work to meet the immediate daily needs of the people. Participants will serve with food, clothing, and health care. Participants’ past experiences have included working in the soup kitchen preparing and serving food, while at the same time interacting with the homeless.
